Bliscy (nie)znajomi. Źródła informacji w badaniach regionalnych / edukacji regionalnej pogranicza.
The Czech Republic, Moravia and Silesia are historic regions that have been neighboring for centuries. In the past, for a long time (1348-1740) they were even in one state organism. Today, the southern lands of Upper Silesia (so-called Austrian Silesia) together with part of the lands of the historical Moravian Margrave form one of the administrative regions of the Czech Republic - Moravskoslezský kraj. However, within the borders of Poland there are north-Moravian enclaves. Despite the centuries-old neighborhood and long shared history, these regions today remain close (not) friends. The territorial borderland is therefore a natural environment where one can compare and discover what their inhabiting societies connect and divide. Both in terms of features and values, as well as differences and mutual cultural borrowings.
The course aims to present sources of information that would be useful in conducting research on the history and culture of the Silesian-Moravian-Czech border and in preparing educational materials about this border. First of all, Polish and Czech resources available on the Internet (bibliographic databases, factographic databases, digital libraries, digital repositories) will be used. These resources will be supplemented, if necessary, with other sources of information.

Karkonosze – krajobraz kulturowy i jego obraz literacki w humanistyce cyfrowej.
The course will concern the history of the Krkonoše culture, presented against the background of the Czech-Silesian borderland. Particular emphasis will be placed on the period of intense changes from the Silesian wars around the mid-eighteenth century to the times of dynamic development of mass tourism in the second half of the nineteenth century, possibly until the outbreak of World War II.
The course will focus on various literary texts - travel accounts, guidebooks, but also fiction about the Giant Mountains and traveling through them, or practicing tourism or winter sports in their area - most often available in various digital repositories. The subject of analyzes undertaken as part of individual classes will be the literary picture of the mountains themselves, inanimate nature, flora and fauna, and various cultural phenomena associated with them - the economic activity of the local population, its relations with travelers, travel conditions, etc. - contained in selected texts, and presented in the context of the worldview and beliefs of their authors.
Based on digital maps, an attempt will be made to precisely reconstruct real routes of important Karkonosze travel writers, such as B.L. Tralles, J.T. Volkmar, E.F. Buquoi, J.E. Troschel, F. Fuß or J.Ch.F. GutsMuths, as well as fictitious routes described in fiction, e.g. Th. Fontany or P. Keller. These analyzes will be aimed at, among others checking the reliability of selected travel accounts, as well as referring them to guides and apodemics popular at that time.

Dźwięk w humanistyce cyfrowej.
Sound is the basic carrier and relay of information contained in language messages. Optimization of the use of the sound manifestation of the language not only enables precise transmission of content, but also supports the establishment of positive interpersonal relationships.
As part of the course, tips will be presented on: a) the correct articulation of sounds of a given language, with particular emphasis on those whose variants have significant sociophonic value - e.g. consonants / r /, / l /, long, strained, nasal vowels; b) the principles of combining sounds and their accent, with particular emphasis on lexemes of common etymological origin; c) effective use of non-linguistic features, e.g. volume, speaking speed, pauses, focus accents, intonation passages, non-standard implementation of sounds, with particular emphasis on their use in various types of text; d) deliberate use of sound features in the use of a foreign language, both in the relationship between Czech and Polish and "third" languages (eg German, English, Ukrainian / Russian).
Course participants will use didactic recordings, create their own trial recordings using existing phonodidactic programs. The final goal of the course will be to create your own spoken texts for use in public space, e.g. sound form descriptions of selected places (especially in Czech-Polish border regions), create a regional audioteka (archiving of dialectal, hybrid, intercultural, foreign language forms) etc.
