Tuija Laine is a docent in Book and Church History at the University of Helsinki. She held a five-year professorship in Book History (2012–2016) at the same University. She wrote her dissertation on English devotional literature in Finland in the Swedish Era (2000). Thereafter she has researched several themes on book history, e.g. book trade, reading and children’s literature, especially primers as tools of propaganda.
